So, you want to manifest something, but you’re sitting there thinking, how do I actually do that? You want to be rich, but your bank account says otherwise. You want to be healthy, but your body isn’t there yet. And then you hear people say things like, “Just say that you already have it”, and do that over and over and over and over.
So, you try it.
“I am wealthy.”
“I am perfectly healthy.”
…and something in your brain immediately goes, No… you’re not.
And that’s the problem. You can’t just say something and expect it to work if you don’t believe it. In fact, forcing yourself to repeat things that don’t feel true can even create resistance instead of alignment. You end up just feeling awful and frustrated. Trust me, I’ve tried the “just say it and hope for the best” method… it doesn’t work.
A lot of manifestation advice out there skips over the important part: your current state matters. If what you’re saying feels fake, your mind doesn’t just accept it; it pushes back. That doesn’t mean manifestation doesn’t work. It just means that the method you’re using might not be working for you. There’s a difference between expanding into something and trying to force yourself to believe a lie. One feels natural and believable, the other feels forced and fake.
I came across a new way of phrasing things recently and tried it out. It felt completely different because instead of forcing something I didn't believe, I opened up to something that actually felt possible. So instead of “I am perfectly healthy,” or “I am wealthy,” I would say:
“Thank you, God/Source, for the perfect health and financial abundance I am joyfully receiving.”
Gratitude shifts your energy, and “joyfully receiving” keeps it in the present without forcing a claim of something that doesn’t yet feel true. You’re not saying you already have it. You’re saying you’re in the process of receiving it. Instead of trying to convince yourself of something that’s not true, you’re opening yourself up to something that feels possible. That shift alone makes a bigger difference than you'd think.
But this is only part of it.
Because even if you get the wording right… that alone isn’t enough.
In Part 2, we’ll get into the piece that most people skip, which is the action that actually makes manifestation work.
